class=\"fusion-text\">\n<p>Step 1.<br \/>\nClean and dry at least two inches of skin around the wound. If you need to increase the adhesion of the strip, you can apply a thin layer of Steri-Strip Compound Benzoin Ink (CBT) on the skin to the edge of the wound. If swelling or movement is expected, consider using Steri-Strip elastic skin sealer<\/p>\n<p>Step 2.<br \/>\nPeel off the pull tab of the package to access the sterile Steri-Strip closure. Remove the card and take aseptic measures if necessary. Bend the card to the end perforation and gently remove the tab.<\/p>\n<p>Step 3.<br \/>\nGrasp the closed end of the skin with tweezers or gloved hands; lift straight up (90-degree angle). Steri-Strip cover lifted at a small angle or directly back may curl up and complicate operation<\/p>\n<p>Step 4.<br \/>\nWound closure usually begins in the middle of the wound. Steri-Strip closures must be used without tension. Do not stretch or strap the Steri-Strip seal. The wound edge is first sutured with half of the Steri-Strip sealant and then pressed firmly.<\/p>\n<p>Step 5.<br \/>\nUse your fingers or tweezers as close to the edges of the skin as possible. Press half of the Steri-Strip seal firmly on the other side of the wound.<\/p>\n<p>Step 6.<br \/>\nThe remaining wounds should be closed with an additional Steri-Strip closer with a 1\/8 inch (3 mm) pitch, with a pitch of:<br \/>\n(A) Use Steri-Strip Closures to divide the remaining length of the wound into two in sequence. (B) Apply Steri-Strip Closures at 1\/8 inch intervals until the edges are completely close. If the edges don\u2019t fit properly, remove the Steri-Strip closure on the affected area (peeling each side towards the wound) and re-wrap the wound.<\/p>\n<p>Step 7.<br \/>\nAdditional Steri-Strip closures can be placed parallel to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbchinmed.com\/portfolio-items\/foam-dressings-for-wounds\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">wound<\/a>, approximately 1\/2 inch from the end (cross brace, rails). This reduces the pressure below the end of the Steri-Strip seal, which reduces the risk of skin tension blisters and Steri-Strip seals lifting prematurely.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fusion-text\">\n<ol>\n<li>Steri strip glue are usually used for those that are not too severe, or minor surgical incisions or wounds.They help seal the wound by pulling the sides of the skin together without touching the actual wound.
